One person was killed while another two were injured following a head-on collision involving a car and a three-wheeler this morning near the Sunethradevi Road, Kohuwala.

A car traveling from Kohuwala to Pepiliyana had collided with a three wheeler traveling from Pepiliyana to Kohuwala at around 4.40am today (8). 

Three persons including the driver of the three-wheeler and two passengers were admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital following the accident, however the former had succumbed to injuries shortly after. 

The remains of the deceased have been placed at the same hospital while postmortem examination is to be carried out today.

The driver of the car has been arrested in connection with the incident and Kohuwala Police is conducting further investigations.
